Doctor Who [SPOILERS]

Doctor Who will have three glamorous assistants in the next series - after Billie Piper agreed to a surprise comeback.

BBC chiefs are delighted that Billie, 25, is to star in at least three episodes to round off the next run, which starts in March.

The Time Lord, played by David Tennant, starts with Donna (Catherine Tate) as his helper, is then joined by Martha (Freema Agyeman) and then reunites with Billie's character Rose for the finale. A source said: "With Donna, Martha and Rose competing to assist him, Dr Who is going to be spoilt for choice."

Since quitting, Billie has often admitted she misses the show which turned her into a major TV star. The actress told The Mirror: "Doctor Who is a big part of my life. I've missed it since I left and I love David Tennant."

She was persuaded to return by her family. Billie added: "My mum is the biggest Doctor Who fan ever. I feel bad about not being in this year's Christmas special with Kylie Minogue."

As Rose, Billie proved a huge hit, winning awards two years running.

Next year's 13-part series will end with an explosive plot, before taking a break for just a few specials in 2009. The series returns in 2010.

Billie will star as Sally Lockhart in the BBC1 adaptation of Philip Pullman's Shadow in the North this Christmas.

Following a series of unconfirmed reports across the media this morning, we're delighted to officially confirm that Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler in Series Four of Doctor Who.

Anything you may read elsewhere about when, how or for how long Rose returns to Doctor Who should be treated as pure speculation at this point.

YAY!!! :D

I'm not looking forward to Donna/Cathering being on the show again (OMG what did we do to deserve that?!) but Rose?! YAY!!! I can't wait to see Billie again. :D:D:D

It should be rather interesting with Donna I think... we'll have to wait and see.

Rose however... :woot:

I'm so pleased that Billie is coming back :D I can't wait to see the episodes she'll be in. Honestly, I quite like Donna, so I also look forward to seeing the three companions together. And Martha's reaction to meeting Rose :-p

I kinda remember the last one with Billie, didn't they tell each other they loved each other.

I've missed season 3, not one single episode watched and I'm so wishing to watch it. :|

Rose told him she loved him, but he got cut off just as he was about to say the same to her :(

I'm sure you can find them online somewhere :) or get the DVDs

You've not seen season 3 yet? Its rather good, a little slow to start (because at first they were writing Martha too much like she was Rose, when she's nothing like her.) but it picked up speed and was very excellent :D

I'm rather looking forward to the Christmas episode. Less than a month to go :woot:

It's the one with Kylie right? If so; gotta see it.

I'm going to watch them online sometime, either that or on Virgin Media on demand. :D
